It's hard to enjoy all the goodness of the holidays when your dog sits there watching you longingly. This recipe is perfect for your pup. It is pumpkin pie, but without all the ingredients your dog can't have!
Pupkin Pie
Ingredients
Crust
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
2 tsp water
Filling
1/2 cup water
A sprinkle of gelatin
Pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie mix -- this should be 100% pumpkin)
Light whipped cream (if desired)
Directions
Preheat to 350°F.
Mix whole wheat flour, unsweetened applesauce, 3 tsp water together in a mixer.
Roll out and put into a pie tin.
Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool.
Microwave 1/2 cup water for 2 minutes.
Add a sprinkle of gelatin.
Mix.
Add 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
Mix for 5-8 minutes.
Pour into crust/tin.
Refrigerate 3 hours or until filling has set.
Slice up and add a spritz of light whipped cream (if desired).
Serve to your pup & enjoy!
